1. Brief introduction
Sodium silicate is a kind of water solubility silicate, it is also known as water glass, a kind of binding agent. Its chemical formula is R2O·nSiO2. “R2O” is an alkali metal oxide, “n” is for the mole number ratio value of SiO2 and R2O,The aqueous solution of sodium silicate is most commonly applied in architecture.
2. Application
Paint on the surface of materials, which will improve the ability of resistance to weather. Dipping or brush the sodium silicate solution with the density of 1.35g/cm3 on porous materials such as clay brick, cement concrete, silicate concrete and stone etc. ,which it can improve the compactness, strength, anti-permeability, frost-resistance and waterproofing of these materials.
Pour the sodium silicate solution and calcium chloride solution into the soil alternately, the silicic acid gel will absorb the water of the soil and keep the expansion status under a moisture environment, the soil will solidify.

Mix the sodium silicate, granulated blast-furnace slag, sand and sodium fluosilicate with a proper ratio and fill the mixed material into the crack, it can bond and strength the structure.
